Microsoft is proud to announce the Release Candidate of System Center Advisor, formerly known as Microsoft codename “Atlanta.”

This new cloud service enables customers to assess the configuration of their servers so they can proactively avoid problems. System Center Advisor helps customers resolve issues faster with the ability for support staff to access current and historical configuration data for their deployment.  Additionally, System Center Advisor helps reduce downtime by providing suggestions for improvement, and notifying customers of key updates specific to their configuration.

Designed for IT professionals responsible for the management of Windows-based data centers, the core value of this new service is built on Microsoft’s experience supporting customers with their server deployments around the world. The Release Candidate available now (March 2011) helps IT Pros manage the configuration of SQL Servers as well as some Windows Server features. Advisor aims to extend and deepen its reach with new configuration analysis intelligence and server product support over time.

With targeted commercial availability in the second half of 2011, System Center Advisor will only be available as a benefit of Software Assurance for entitled server products. This service brings new support and maintenance value to Software Assurance coverage at no additional cost.
