image Bob Muglia kicked off TechEd North America 2010 this (New Orleans, Louisiana) morning,where he presented how Microsoft continues to deliver on our Dynamic IT vision.  With demonstrations including System Center, Visual Studio, applications in the cloud, and more, Bob and his team showed you how you can develop, deploy and manage applications across both your on premise and cloud infrastructures.

Bob and his team also showed a number of exciting developments in our approaches to social and professional interaction with demonstrations of the upcoming Office Communications Server (OCS) 14 and Windows Phone 7; our new cloud-based desktop management service Windows Intune; business intelligence solutions for the cloud, and more.

Announcements during the keynote included:

  1. Support for Windows Azure through .NET Framework 4.0, IntelliTrace Support, Content Delivery Network and Visual Studio Tools and SDK.
  2. General Availability of Windows Server AppFabric.
  3. Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (including Dynamic Memory for Hyper-V, and RemoteFX for VDI scenarios) – both available in July.
  4. Microsoft SQL Azure enhancements including up to 50GB capacity, DataSync, and Spatial Data Support.
  5. PivotViewer for Microsoft Silverlight.
  6. SDK for Bing Maps.
