As promised, when I see a great story about how people are using (or improving) System Center – I’ll post them here. I thought this Microsoft IT story would really be of interest to you folks with Configuration Manager.

Microsoft IT managed almost 230 System Center Configuration Manager 2007 site servers most of which resided on dedicated physical hardware and were typically underutilized. Microsoft IT Configuration Manager  architects designed a solution for Configuration Manager site virtualization, using  Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V technology, to improve server manageability through consolidation, virtualization, and standardization.

The solution reduced operating and capital expenses by whopping 75 percent - and improved business continuity, scalability, and availability. It further improved environmental sustainability and provided for quicker deployment of Configuration Manager site roles.  Read the case study and if you have any questions or comments, you can leave them here or reach out to me via e-mail – I’d be interested to hear them.
