Hi everyone, what better to do over a long weekend than install the ConfigMgr v.Next Beta 1? I would highly recommend standing up a new environment to test out what we are all talking about. I couldn’t think of anything better to do!
Actually there was a real reason for this blog. In addition to there now being an official ConfigMgr v.Next website, we have the International Client Pack 1 available on the same Connect page as the full beta 1 product page. International Client Pack 1 (ICP1) contains international-language clients to use with System Center Configuration Manager v.Next Beta. The ICP1 download contains only the Config Mgr client files, not the English-language ConfigMgr vNext Beta, which is required. ICP1 contains the following languages (more to come – details will be available as we learn them):
Stay tuned to this blog for more updates and news about ConfigMgr and of course other System center products. Also don't forget about the upcoming webcast on ConfigMgr v.Next. Wednesday June 2nd. More information here. For now, join the beta, join the conversation, and learn about the next generation of client management.
Have yourselves a great weekend………………

Hi everyone, we hope you are having a great week. Its been an amazing few days in Redmond, the Campus is lit up with excitement with the achievement of a major milestone. ConfigMgr v.Next Beta 1 has been released, and the downloads within 24 hours have passed north of 500 already. We expect this to keep going well over the 10’s of thousands as many of you experience the next release. Want the Beta? Follow this link….
We managed to sneak onto Brad’s calendar to catch up with him about his current thoughts about the release. Not only is Client Management close to Brad’s (and my ) heritage (our 3rd release we have been involved in) but this particular release carries a number of big promises he has made to you, our customers and partners.
So, here’s a quick recap of our recent chat with Brad…. it’s always so rewarding to sit and spend time in Brad’s corner office…. not only is the view one of the best, but so is the conversation……
Enjoy.
Don’t forget, next week we have a Technet Webcast coming to you on the next release of ConfigMgr. We hope you can join us. More information is here.
On Thursday, June 3, 2010, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Pacific, we are hosting a Live Meeting presentation for the community, titled “Overview of System Center Management Packs with Demo,” presented jointly by Vlad Joanovic, Sr. Program Manager, and Dan Rogers, Principal Program Manager Lead, with special community guest, Simon Skinner. (This session is a repeat of the one held in April for members of the System Center Influencers Program.)
Please note:
Abstract:
Get an overview of management packs, authoring tools, and various kinds of custom extensions that can be created to meet specific business needs and operational scenarios. Dan Rogers and Vlad Joanovic will show, in a short demo, how you can, for example, add monitors to a management pack, and discuss additional resources for those who wish to explore further how to get the most out of their implementations of System Center Operations Manager. We’ll finish with some info on the Management Pack Extensions contest, which is currently active, explaining how to participate and what you can win by giving it the ol’ college try.

It’s fun and gratifying to have customers come back to you with positive feedback and evidence that you’ve delivered a solution which adds value to their business. Coming right on the heels of the System Center Essentials 2010 and Data Protection Manager 2010 launch, we’ve been out talking to early-adopter customers to get their feedback on how this new virtualization and IT management solution is helping their business bottom line.
