Hi,

If I have a W2003 terminal server that is connected via the iSCSI target to a W2008 R2 server, what licensing do I need? I have TS CALS for the required users, will I also need W2008 R2 CALS for each user?

i have created a virtual disk having 3tb in size and attached to a other computer , can i change its size now in ISCSI software target reduce to 2 gb and can get 1tb free space ?

The problem is, iSCSI Target is still using under development purpose. Espesicially for NAS-Storage that installed with Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. I don't know when exactly this iSCSI target will ready to used on production environment.

spchua: That is correct. If you have an R2 server running Standard, Enterprise or Datacenter you can load and use the iSCSI Target w/o any additional fees or licenses.

A good guide overall. I got a query. base on "Until Now! The iSCSI Software Target 3.3 can now be downloaded by anybody and used on regular versions of Windows Server 2008 R2! " does it mean iSCSI Software Target 3.3 do not require additional license to use? I mean on top of Win2008R2 License.
