So I've just had a conversation with some people who claim there's nothing new or exciting happening in the world of Microsoft technology. I'd be inclined to disagree, and I'm not going to list everything I find interesting here, but I can respect their opinion. What *is* exciting then? What really gets you rushing to your machine in the morning?
Seriously, let me know - whether it's on Windows, Linux, your Mac or your alarm clock, what are the new technologies around now or due out soon that really get you fired up? I suspect most people's definition of exciting technology will vary wildly, just as non-geeks would probably find the whole lot outstandingly boring. But they don't know what they're missing ;-)
The comments are open, so drop me a line.
Hi Steve at this moment I am downloading the Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions with SQL 2005 Express to play with and Blog about Melville
Having made sure I've first read your blog (of course), I then start playing around with Reporting Services in Business Intelligence Development Studio... I'm currently figuring out what its capabilities are. Check out my blog for updates!
I think the most exciting long-term bet we have at the moment is the Dynamic Systems Initiative. Although the version I'm looking forward to is perhaps several product wave iterations ahead.
Still, the common engineering critiera and DSI should do wonders to make managing Microsoft powered businesses easier.
