in the last few days my computer has;
1. Installed Windows Defender, but WHERE??
2. WILL NOT allow Critical updates to install..
3. Been acting REALLY weird
4. I use XP3, Office 2003, write the website above to Christian viewers who DEPEND on it's release??
5. I LOVE MICROSOFT: Been with you guys from day "one." Am a Former Gunnery Sergeant, USMC,75 years young and NOT a newbie!, used to seeing that things GET DONE? Do you have a "Gunny" around Microsoft that is of the same persuasion?? - NOW! -
I'd like to express my disgust with the malware that is windows defender. After struggling for a week with a new clean machine that randomly crashed and generated endless service and driver errors, I have finally identified the culprit - windows defender.
I updated and adjsted my bios, repeatedly tested the memory, checked my graphics card, reinstalled everything twice, dug through dozens upon dozens of logged events solving inexplicable problems raised whenever I attempted to install anything.
IT TURNED OUT THAT ALL THE WHILE THE REASON NOTHING WAS WORKING WAS BECAUSE THIS POS SOFTWARE WAS STOPPING SIGNED DRIVERS FROM LOADING OR CORRECTLY INSTALLING. IT EVEN SCREWED UP THE INSTALLATION OF MICROSOFTS OWN SOFTWARE. IT DOESN'T EVEN TELL YOU ANYTHING, IT JUST HIDES AWAY MESSAGES UNDER HUNDREDS OF OTHER MESSAGES IN THE EVENT VIEWER.
Why provide something, then update vista but leave out omething for it.
sinse update of service pack 2 all I get is the error Ox800106ba.
To sort out the problem, you have to uninstall defender - but you can't do this because it tells you the same message when you go to click on it and it is not showing in uninstall programs.
You wish to send the problem to Microsoft but you have to pay £46 for the service - considering that it is their fault, this is outragious.
