The event is free of charge for you to attend. We'll be touring the UK (well four major cities at least) presenting in depth security session covering ways to mitigate the treats that all of our organisations face every day. The TechNet Security track will dive into practical application of Windows XP and Server technologies including securing wireless networks, segmenting networks, application layer firewalling(referred to as "Application Intelligence" by CheckPoint), rights managment, active directory security and many others. We will also share best practise on effective security strategies, policies and patch managment.
Full details of the events can be found at the Technical Roadshow website. In addition to the security track there will be a generic ITPro track together with an MSDN developer track.
The security track comprises the following session titles - see the afore mentioned website for the abstracts:
I hope to see you there!
Any pre-requisites recommended to get the most out of the roadshow?
Andy> The only pre-requisite being an interest in Information Security. The security sessions in general will be pitched @ Level 200 though the Strategy & Risk management sessions will be suitable for ITPro Managers as well as technical people.
Go and enjoy it Andy, I shall be at the Birmingham Roadshow on both days for all the Security Tracks.
Hope your going to be there Steve as I enjoyed the last time when you visited Brum.
Pete> I'm really pleased you enjoyed our last visit to Birmingham - I'm looking forward to the roadshow and can confirm I WILL be at all four locations.
See you there. Do come and introduce yourself.
Steve> Thanks for the feedback, you have made my day, knowing you will be their. As I found your presentation technique very refreshing and the Q&A at the end of the session was very helpful.
I did introduce myself, albeit very quickly straight after the session and I mentioned I had been reading your Blog. You said " Start writing/commenting in it ", Well !!..... I've finally got round to it.
Pete> I forget so many names ;-( Glad you enjoyed the session - see you @ the RoadShow :-)
Treats? That's threats surely :-)
