Looking back at 2010, the Server and Tools Business yielded numerous product announcements throughout the year. As a result, several publications have identified Server and Tools products as industry winners in annual product awards. Check out the great accomplishments STB products earned in a handful of industry awards this year: Identity Lifecycle Manager took home the gold in the annual Information Security magazine Readers' Choice Awards for the Identity and Access Management category. Windows Azure Platform took second place in the Best of VMworld Awards for the cloud computing category. Visual Studio 2010 is the winner of this year's Dr. Dobb's Jolt Product Excellence Award in the Development Environment category. In the Redmond Magazine Readers' Choice Awards, STB products took home about 13 overall wins, with a handful more named as Preferred Products. Windows Server 2008 R2 took home Gold in the Windows IT Pro Editors' Best Awards, and Bronze in the Community Choice Awards for the Best Microsoft Product category. SC Magazine named the finalists of the annual SC Awards, with Microsoft named in two categories. Forefront Client Security is a finalist in the "Best Anti-Malware Management (client-based, typically software only)" category, and Forefront Identity Manager 2010 is a finalist in the "Best Identity Management Application" category. Winners will be announced at an awards gala in February 2011.
