As previously announced at PDC 2010, Microsoft is now delivering updates to the Windows Azure platform to further enable Platform as a service (PaaS), where developers and business will ultimately see the true value of the cloud. Today, Microsoft is delivering:
It’s been a busy few weeks for the Server and Tools Business, with announcements at PDC10, TechEd Europe and the PASS (Professional Association for SQL Server) Summit 2010. At PDC and TechEd Europe, Microsoft launched several new products and updates, including tools and resources to help customers more easily develop and deploy cloud applications and a new set of Hyper-V Cloud programs that help businesses more efficiently build their own cloud infrastructures. The consistent theme across all announcements is that Microsoft’s offerings enable partners and customers to extend their current investments to take advantage of new solutions that drive efficiency and meet business demands.
Since we announced the availability of the beta version of Windows Small Business Server Code name “Aurora” and Windows Small Business Server “7”, both products have been downloaded more than 9000 times through bout our partner and customer community. Today as we move forward with these new releases, Microsoft is announcing the final names, pricing, licensing and estimated availability for the next generation of the Small Business Server family currently in public preview.
