Anu Chawla, Director, ISV Technical Enablement, Microsoft

Anu joined Microsoft in 2003 as a Technical Evangelist in the Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) division. In his current role leading the Global ISV (Independent Software Vendors) Enablement team, he works with engineers and technical pre-sales at Microsoft’s largest partners and focuses on ensuring there is great guidance for running their apps on SQL Server. Prior to Microsoft, Anu worked as a Principal Consultant and Technical Account Manager at Siebel Systems for four years. At Siebel, he helped several large companies, including Philips Medical, Nike, and T-Mobile, integrate their Siebel CRM Systems with SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Anu has a master's degree in computer science and an MBA.

Outside of work, Anu likes to try different types of cuisines (Ethiopian is his current favorite) and spending time outdoors with his family in the great Northwest.

 

Norberto Garcia, Principal Program Manager Lead, Microsoft

Norberto is the SQLCAT Tier 1 Lead. As part of his responsibilities, Norberto manages the SQLCAT ISV Team, working in close collaboration with DPE and EPG. Norberto’s career at Microsoft spans 15+ years, during which time he has focused on Application Platform technologies across the Enterprise, Marketing, and Engineering organizations. . In his previous role leading the Field Team in BizTalk Engineering, Norberto led both the pre-sales and post-sales efforts, along with the Virtual TS Partner program. He has vast experience engaging with the field and partners, dating back to his early days in the company. Norberto holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science along with an International MBA. In his spare time, Norberto enjoys hiking in the great Northwest, exercising, and spending quality time with his family.

 

Lonnye Bower, Developer Evangelist, Microsoft

As an IT Pro Evangelist, Lonnye works with Microsoft’s largest Global ISV Partners and their enterprise customers in all aspects related to SQL Server, including performance benchmarking and technical enablement. Prior to her current role, Lonnye worked on the Microsoft SQL Server Support Team as a Senior Technical Lead, concentrating on SQL Server Failover Clustering and performance issues. Before joining Microsoft, she spent six years as a SQL Server DBA for Comcast Entertainment Group.

Outside of work, Lonnye is not just your everyday soccer fan! Lonnye played two years of NCAA Division 2 soccer, and still hold five records at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA).

 

Neeraj Joshi, Developer Evangelist, Microsoft

Neeraj is a Senior Developer Evangelist tasked with SQL Server enablement for the Global ISV team in the Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) division in Microsoft. Prior to this role, Neeraj worked for eight years on the SQL Server Performance team, performing industry-standard benchmarks like TPCC and TPCE, as well as ISV-specific benchmarks. He has extensive experience scaling SQL Server for different solutions, including SAP, Temenos, and PROS.

 

Igor Pagliai, Developer Evangelist, Microsoft

Igor joined Microsoft in 1998 as a SQL Support engineer, and has worked with SQL Server since version 6.5! He is based in Rome, Italy, and has been involved with many Italian customer projects, including scenarios involving multi-terabyte databases and migrations of hundreds of servers. Igor was also a world-wide lead for the SQL Server Risk Assessment Program (SQLRAP) for several years. Igor holds a B.A. degree in computer science with a concentration in databases. He specializes in SQL Server architecture, support, security, high availbility and disaster recovery, virtualization, migration, and consolidation.

 

Silvano Coriani, Partner Technology Advisor, Microsoft

Silvano is a Partner Technology Advisor in the Global Alliance ISV Technical Enablement team, focusing on the Microsoft data platform. He joined Microsoft in 2003, after five years as a self-employed consultant for enterprise customers, speaker at several IT conferences, trainer, and technical writer. He started working in the data access, management and analysis in early ‘90s, when he began his career in the industrial-automation and process-control industry, working with 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers and assembler compilers. He met SQL Server and data access technologies in late 1993, and never stop loving them! He is involved in design and development of highly transactional distributed application in several verticals, like logistic and distributions, manufacturing and finance, using technologies like Microsoft .NET Framework, COM+, Java and Oracle. More recently, Silvano has worked on Windows Azure and SQL Azure, helping Microsoft partners integrate their businesses with cloud computing.

 

Konstantin Dotchkoff, Partner Technology Advisor, Microsoft

Konstantin is a Partner Technology Advisor within the Global ISV Team at Microsoft, and is responsible for ISV Technical Enablement. He helps Alliance ISVs optimize their products on the Microsoft Application Platform and succeed with their largest Tier-1 customer deployments. Konstantin has more than 15 years of professional experience in the IT industry, mainly involved in building software products and complex enterprise IT solutions. He has software development background, and before joining Microsoft, he worked as a Director of Software Development at an ISV, responsible for the development of software products and customer solutions. Prior to his current role, Konstantin worked as a software architect with Microsoft Consulting Services, driving successful architecture designs of large scale enterprise solutions and deployments. Konstantin holds a master's degree in computer science.

 

Shaun Tinline-Jones, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft

Shaun is a Senior Program Manager within the SQL Server Customer Advisory Team (SQLCAT) focused on Tier-1 ISVs.  He has worked in the database consulting industry for about15 years, of which he has spent about 9 years within Microsoft Consulting Services (3 years in South Africa, 5 years in Canada).  Shaun has worked across the globe on several world-class projects, contributing to the white paper “Planning for Consolidation with Microsoft SQL Server 2000” and the article “Green IT in Practice: SQL Server Consolidation in Microsoft IT” in “The Architect Journal – January 2009.'

Shaun concentrates on SQL Server-based solutions typically focused on database development, consolidation, and upgrades.  His most recent projects include leading a 20TB database SQL Server 2008 upgrade for London Drugs in Vancouver, and taking on the co-architect role for MSIT’s initiative to consolidate SQL Server using Hyper-V and implementing Filestream for a 30TB database on SQL Server 2008.

Steve Howard, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft

Steve is a Senior Program Manager working with the Tier-1 ISV partners. He has worked with SQL Server since version 6.5, and has worked with relational databases since 1988. Steve comes to SQLCAT from the Premier Field Engineering team where he worked for five years providing support for critical production databases and ETL processes. Steve was also heavily involved in development of curriculum on performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server, and programming for optimal SQL Server performance. He has also developed material on SSIS performance and high availability. In his free time, Steve enjoys running, hiking, biking, or going to ball games with family.

 

Kun Cheng, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft

Kun is currently a Program Manager working for the SQL Server Customer Advisory Team and focusing on ISV application performance and scalability. He has more than 10 years of experience as a developer and consultant helping large SQL Server implementations. His industry experience includes telecommunications, IT, and financial services. Kun specializes in developing high performing solutions for enterprise OLTP systems.

 

Chuck Heinzelman, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft

Chuck is a Senior Program Manager with Microsoft’s SQL Server Customer Advisory Team, where his role involves working with ISVs and customers to help them reach their business goals using all aspects of the SQL Server product. He has been active in the SQL Server community for more than 10 years at the local, national, and international level.
