Benchmark Results: Infor EAM and SQL Server 2008 R2

Infor EAM is a leading enterprise asset management (EAM) software solution that has been helping companies worldwide—including more than 60% of the Fortune 500—for more than 20 years. Infor recognizes that Microsoft is a key vendor in many of their customers' businesses and has engaged in a long-standing strategic partnership with Microsoft built on a close working relationship to deliver business-specific solutions that meet the individual needs of customers. Infor uses Microsoft platforms and tools to enrich, extend, and evolve Infor solutions, including Infor EAM, to help customers manage the fast-paced changes in their businesses.

To confirm the performance and scalability of Infor EAM on the Microsoft platform, engineers from Infor and Microsoft conducted benchmark tests on enterprise-class hardware capable of hosting up to 2,400 concurrent users and with the large volume of data typically generated by this number of users.

The results showed that transaction times for typical business tasks remained almost constant for the duration of the test on both a full hardware configuration with a full load and on a scaled-down hardware configuration with a reduced load more typical of production infrastructure. The tests clearly demonstrate that SQL Server is an appropriate database choice in scenarios that require the application and database servers to run for a long period of time with no downtime.
