Spotted in a daily rag last week; a new Wi-Fi detecting t-shirt from firebox.com, "the ultimate in geek chic attire," and yours for just £19.95.  The firebox description is: "As its name suggests, this hi-tech garment lets you know when you're in a Wi-Fi zone by graphically displaying the Wi-Fi connections floating around the vicinity. Glowing bars on the front of the shirt dynamically change as the signal strength fluctuates. Clever, eh?"

You have to love it really, especially as a stocking-filler idea (apologies for mentioning the festive season before the end of August).  If, however, you'd like to take a more discreet approach to checking out the availability of Wi-Fi zones, you could try using the free Wi-Fi locator on the small business site. Less geeky, but it might save you running for miles and miles before you find a connection....
