@anonymous - What Miao is describing in this article is how to package a report in an MP so that it is transportable as part of the MP. If all you want to do is add a report to SQL RS and have it show up in the console all you have to do is add the report to SRS somewhere under the Service Manager folder.

Something more like this:

but in this case the report would actually be querying the views in the DWDataMart DB not some other financial system.

Really the only people that should be packaging reports in MPs like this are ISV partners. There is no need for a customer to go through all this MP packaging hassle to get their reports on the SRS web site.

So if I want to add a custom report to the Service Manager Cosnole, what do I need to do?

1. Simply upload the RDL into the Repoer Manager website?

2. Or manually do all the steps in this article?

Because I have tried to fight my way thru this article just to finaly realize that maybe I don't even have to spend 2 hours of my life trying to clear out what Travis was trying to say, and to correct display strings in the managemenet pack for hours.

The error you see indicate that your management pack has syntax error - XSD verification failed.
