In Service Request module the action log and history is displayed for the end user in the portal. This is very confusing for the end user. Since we have found no possibilty to send e-mails from an activity we would like to communicate with the end user in the portal.

Any way to separate the action log and history in the portal?

I would like to see the logs for change requests, incidents and service requests added to the data warehouse as well.

Hi Travis

Our users are also interested in the ActionLog for reporting off of the DWDataMart. Did you ever manage to post a blog on adding a new dimension in a mgmt pack?

Do you have some standard reports i can run to get visibility on the level of effort of each analyst. I'm particilarly interested in the action log.

The data model is documented as a Visio diagram that is also included with the SM Job Aids Package. We dont document the DB schema itself since we dont want people to interact with the DB tables directly. They are not designed for that. Instead people should interact with the data model through the SDK and PowerShell.

Thanks. I've seen that schema before. Where can i find the table that shows the action log entries? I assume it's in the ServiceManager DB. It would be good to get a complete schema of the system.

The DW schema is available in the SCSM Job Aids Package:

The action log is not currently part of the DW data mart schema.

I have been tearing my hair out trying to find a schema for SCSM that details all the dimension tables and how they inter-relate. The Action table is one i'm looking for but can't seem to find!

Hi Travis

I am also very interested in the blog you intend to have on getting log data into the DWDataMart. We implemented SCSM several months ago and now management wants to start gathering metrics from the log data.

I'm having a difficult time finding the information I need to build Report Models for Reporting data. Other than this blog can you suggest other sources of information for SCSM. ERD, schema navigation, table/view descriptions etc. Thanks.

Travis, how soon will you have a blog posted? We have a team here that is not happy that they can't get to the Actions logged by their staff in closed incidents. I needs this ASAP.
