The Management Pack for managing Service Manager with Operations Manager is now available!
You can get it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29980
Reminder: for this release it is not possible to install a Operations Manager agent on a Service Manager management server (SM or DW) due to a technical incompatibility. The management of those servers will need to be done agentlessly for now. We will try to address this in a future release.
We're running OpsMgr 2007 with AD integration enabled for agent allocation. When I deployed SCSM2012 into the environment, the SCSM servers popped up into pending management in OpsMgr, and events in the OpsMgr event log on the SCSM servers indicated that the health service was updated with the OpsMgr management group - without impeding the functionality of SCSM2012.
Is my environment abnormal then?
It is possible to install a SCOM 2007 R2 agent on a SCSM 2012 management server (or have it be discovered through AD integration as in your case). It's just not possible to deploy a SCOM 2012 agent to a SCSM 2012 management server.
That's because for now the SCSM management server is using the SCOM 2007 R2 version of the workflow runtime.
Cool, thanks. That makes sense (and is kinda how my head decided it must be working)
