We released SCSM 2010 SP1 Cumulative Update 2 (CU2) earlier this week.
This cumulative update is a rollup of fixes for System Center Service Manager 2010 SP1. It supersedes SP1 Cumulative Update 1 (CU1) and contains a superset of the fixes that are provided in SP1 CU1. It can be applied to SP1 CU1 or directly to a Service Manager 2010 SP1 installation. This update contains a set of bug fixes to the Service Manager 2010 SP1 release. It should be applied to all Service Manager 2010 SP1 server installations and to any Authoring Tool installations. There are two executable files available:
You can download it from here:
Do I need to install this on client machines that has got the Console?
Or these updates are strictly for Servers?
This CU needs to be installed on console computers.
Thanks, and what is i386? Is this the x86 installer, and AMD64 is for the x64 systems?
So I dont have to install both, am I right?
Can somebody tell what kind of improvements have been done to the AD connector? I just installed CU2 and the AD connector looks pretty much the same as the old one. When I read AD connector improvements I really hoped to have some filter functionality which allows me to filter the objects from the AD in a more granular way
@gk - The "improvement" to the AD connector had to do with some bug when there are multiple domain controllers. More granular filtering criteria on the connector is coming in SCSM 2012.
Hi People, got a question about SP1... We have some production environment where consoles on Windows XP wSP3 x86 spanish worked fine till upgrade to SP1 consoles. Right now when trying to create a new knowledge base article console crash (I tested this issue just happend on Windows XP Spanish, W7 Spanish and Windows XP wSP3 English dont have problems). I applied this CU and issue still is present. Where can i get some light about this??
Thanks a lot.
Please open a support case with Microsoft so we can take a closer look.
We are testing this in a Dev environment.
I noticed that counts have disappeared. For example in SCSM SP1 CU 1 if I go to Library\Lists I see that I have 30 lists. In SCSM SP1 CU 2 if I go to the same place there is no longer a counter displayed. Similar story for say counting Management Packs on the Admin Tab. Having those counts is very useful.
The download page indicates the following:
There are 3 files included in this update. you will need all 3 files.
•SCSM2010SP1_CU_KB2542118_AMD64_7.0.6555.115_EN.exe - Update for the server software, includes all languages
•SCSM2010SP1_CU_KB2542118_i386_7.0.6555.115_EN.exe - Update for the console software, includes all languages
•AuthoringToolMPUpdate_KB2542118.exe - Update to the Authoring tool software, English only
if you are running a 64 bit console, would you still want to launch the i386 update or the amd64 update?
@Adam - i386 = 32 bit operating system ; amd64 = 64 bit operating system
@Travis Wright-Thanks for the clarification, and your response.
We installed CU2 on the sm and dw servers along with the clients. The performance to update tickets and create new tickets is over 5 minutes to post the changes. Pulling the delivered views for incidents is slow as well. Has anyone else experience performance issues post install?
Not that I know of. Sounds like something has gone wrong. Is your hardware looking OK? You might want to open a support case on this.
My name is Mohamed from Expit, I wanted to share with everyone background info about a product we released sometime back. It’s a connector for Microsoft project that allows users to integrate MS Project professional 2010 with Microsoft System Center Services Manager 2012 (SCSM). The product is freely available at www.expit.com/ProjectConnector.aspx
It basically allows users to convert workflow templates in SCSM into task sequences in project. The connector also syncs project tasks as tickets into SCSM. Please check it out and let us know what you would with for in the next release, we are in the process of building a new edition to cater for the greater community wish list of features.
