Anders Bengtsson, System Center MVP has come up with a great little password reset solution over on his blog. It pops up a couple of dialogs to gather the needed information and then resets the password and sends the new password to the specified email account.
This task will trigger the vbscript and will then show the operator two dialog boxes, one for an e-mail and one for a username.
the next dialogue box will ask for an e-mail.
the task will run and after a minute you get
in the console you will see an incident which is closed with some default information
the e-mail with the new password is delivered to the e-mail address
It really doesn’t need to be any more complicated than that does it?!

Nice work Anders! Thanks for sharing!
If you change the users password, how are they supposed to get the email to view what it is?
You could send the mail to the user's manager or other trusted person, a different email account the user has (example: @hotmail), or you could send the email to the help desk analyst who then reads it out to the user.
Ya I have to admit, it doesnt need to be more complicated than that, but its pretty useless.
