Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 8 includes Server Manager, Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-ins, consoles, Windows PowerShell cmdlets and providers, and command-line tools for managing roles and features that run on Windows Server 2012. In limited cases, the tools can be used to manage roles and features that are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008. Some of the tools work for managing roles and features on Windows Server 2003.
After you do the installation Windows 8 will have some of them on the start screen for easy access. You’ll also see these tools added to the Administrative Tools folder (see the picture below).

Does the failover cluster manager support 2008 R2 clusters? I installed the tools today and when I tried to manage one it told me it wasn't a supported version.
It appears that the DnsServer Module is still a work in progress. Some of the cmdlets error out with an invalid parameter, despite using the ISE to run them. Also, there is NO help update for the module, which makes some of the cmdlets next to impossible to use, i.e. Set-DnsServerResourceRecord.
When can we expect the actual RTM RSAT for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012?
Fab - but when's it coming to Windows 7? Loving Server 2012 but not nearly so keen on Win 8 in a corporatate desktop environment.
