I’m happy to announce that in Q1 of 2011, there will be a release of .NET Framework 4 supporting installation on the Server Core installation option

re: .NET Framework 4 availability on Server Core

@StephenCarroll I'm sure you realised this sometime after asking but, as Server 2k8R2(+SP1) is 64-bit only, a 32-bit version of Core.Net4 makes no sense.

If you /do/ have a 32-bit 2k8 install, it's not 2k8R2, which is a requirement of Core.Net4

I would strongly suggest at least a clear statement whether a new .NET framework version will be available at all on a server core platform, and kind of a roadmap.
