I have no idea where you get your information from. People who bring their own devices to work do not take responsibility for maintaining it nor do they don't any additional concerns for the security of their device and the risks their lack of concern causes their company's network. Most people I know want the IT dept to still maintain their device plus everyone else's device that comes in the door. They use them as play toys and most hardily ever look at them as a better way to get work done.
