I make my money with Microsoft. But that doesn't stop me from having to say that It is too bad that all OS's other than linux are choosing to define "trustworthy computing" as keeping software and media safe from the owner of the PC rather than the owner of the machine having complete control over what is trustworthy and what is not.

re: Trustworthy Computing, a Commitment of Significance

So Jeff, how many more years until we get 'Standard Users' by default?

In the following article

technet.microsoft.com/.../cc700838.aspx

"Uninstall Support" is listed as a standard that all patches are required to be uninstallable.

This article seems to be fround around 2003/2004.

It lists the status as "This standard has been completed and is being adopted"

My question is: Are all new patches uninstallable?

This would go a long way to quelling fears of irreverseable patches in my organization. It is amazing how sometimes the simplest questions are the hardest to answer.

Regards,
