Summary: For most people, their web browser is central to their interaction with the Internet, connecting to global web sites and helping them consume online services providing everything from booking flights to banking services to online shopping. This reality makes browsers a key tool when evaluating the security experience of users as the browser interprets Web content and programs delivered from around the world. Over the past few years, there has been much discussion of the need for improvements...

I admit it, I did not buy a Zune last year when they were first released. I don't have a large music collection and I'm generally happy listening to the radio to get my music fix, or the digital music channels available from my cable company, if you will. However, as some of you may realize from my previous postings (Vista Media Center Part 1 , Part 2 and Part 3 ), I have been a fan of Media Center as a potential alternative to the recently-downgraded (don't get me started, even my wife lost what...

Create Your Own "Movies On Demand" Library One of the key goals for my home media center was to be able to build up a library of children's programming that they could...

Sometimes, it is just cool to work at Microsoft. It will take me a bit to get to the description of my "moment", so bear with me. I live in Snoqualmie, Washington (see Snoqualmie Falls , 2nd most visited tourist attraction ) - a beautiful place to live that is about 30 minutes from Microsoft. Quicker drive than my old commute, but physically further out, so that means more gas... When Microsoft recently launched the free Connector Bus service , with Snoqualmie Ridge as one of the neighborhoods, I...

Read the full Part 1 on CSOonline . Recently, Red Hat has raised some objections to my use in analysis of the High, Medium and Low severity ratings as determined by the National Institute of Standards (NIST) for the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) - found at http://nvd.nist.gov/ . So, let me say that in my opinion, some of the concerns raised by Red Hat have merit and mirror some of the issues I've raised myself. On the other hand, the Red Hat motivation seems to be to impugn vulnerability...
