I installed the trial version, however, when logging into my MS licensing portal to obtain the product key it says one is not required. So the question is, do I uninstall the trial version and install the licensed copy, and if so, will that screw up what I've done in SQL and VMM -OR- is there a way I can just "install over" the current copy.. OR will it update it automatically.

Help?

To face that problems something called 'backups' existed for. Not to mention that even if it would be a normal update, the installer could get into the database to change the necesary data to revert the process again to the original R2 as many other Microsoft programs with SPs already do.
