Great news.
When will be available for SP1 RTM for VMM 2008 R2?
I am waiting on the same thing, I've upgraded all my servers to SP1 and still no VMM SP1 to manage my Hyper-V hosts. Hopefully soon!
Stay tuned, we expect this to be available very soon.
SCVMM 2008 R2 SP1 is now available: blogs.technet.com/.../system-center-virtual-machine-manager-2008-r2-sp1-available-now.aspx
Is it still required to have one full windows installation for each host?
I also wonder if the Host still requires full Server or Core to run SCVMM and clustering? In the past, we tried running just Hyper-V Server and it would not do clustering or failover. Kenon Owens mentioned in his "90 seconds to the cloud" video that all of this functionality works with Microsoft Hyper-V server.
A suggestion might be to create a temporary VMM 2012 Beta Forum here: social.technet.microsoft.com/.../virtualmachinemanager
@Marco, VMM (all versions) are supported in this forum. social.technet.microsoft.com/.../virtualmachinemanager which is the one you desribed above.
