(Released Dec 18th) December MOSS Cumulative Updates

December cumulative updates have been released and available – oh great, more SharePoint updates to manage, right? Well, good news is that this time they’re uber-packages. What does that mean? 1 cumulative per product (WSS = 1, MOSS = 1), no more applying 7 patches to the same product to be “up-to-date” (at least that’s what I’m told). The deployment documentation is also being re-written to be easier for customers to understand.

The December Cumulative update information is posted at https://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2008/12/17/announcing-december-cumulative-update-for-office-sharepoint-server-2007-and-windows-sharepoint-services-3-0.aspx

From the post "As we move forward there will be a more concerted effort to get the details of the updates in the update deployment documents for one stop shopping. Currently they still have the information on the October Cumulative updates but the deployment and other guidance is still important for customers to follow. We should have the December CU information in the update deployment documents in January. "
