@Manoj There will not be a maccertification.asmx file in the certificatioexternal directory because that is for federated users, and there is no way to make a mac work with a federation as of yet. On a windows PC you need to add a registry key called FederationHomeRealm, but on a Mac this doesn't exist so I suspect that is the reason.

@Jesee ConfigStatus is exactly that. It is the provisioned state of ADRMS. 1 = Installed, 2 = upgrade needed 3 = provisioned. ;)

@Lathan Maccertification.asmx will ONLY be there if you have Windows 2008 R2 with SP1 installed. It is not available on any version of Windows 2008 non R2.

we have AD RMS supporting office mac 2011 perfectly! but some Mac computers are unable to open protected files. users receive 'You do not have permission to access this file' the user can open it on another mac and windows computers.

i cleared out the DRM folder and also removed any keychain saved passwords. when the user trys to open a file it downloads the DRM files including the use license and then fails. the mac is able to download the RMS policys from the server.

any suggestions?

we are running service pack 2 on windows server 2008 enterprise.

the upgradewizard completed the process correctly but we are still missing the MacCertification.asmx file

Manoj - did you run the upgrade wizard for ADRMS once you installed R2 SP1? You will find it in the system32/rms directory. The file name is Microsoft.RightsManagementServices.UpgradeWizard.exe. The step is listed in the IRM in Office for Mac 2011 Deployment Guide that can downloaded from www.microsoft.com/.../confirmation.aspx

we have the same issue and the registry change and upgrade processed completed correctly but you the MacCertification.asmx is still missing.

how do we obtain this file ?

What exactly does the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DRMS\ConfigStatus value do?? Also do the Macs need to be joined to the domain?

I tested this in my lab and it is working preety well. but i see the " maccertification.asmx " file is not their in Cetification External Directory. is this Ok ?

As i am anot able to get the same workable on Mac Book over ADFS 2.0.
