About

whodat?

Owner: Rod Gode, Director of Solutions Sales, US Education
I'm an 11 year veteran of Microsoft and a 20 year veteran of the IT industry with stints in programming, project management, training and technical sales.  I manage a team of 19 technical pre-sales engineers and specialists that span the continent preaching the good word of Microsoft exclusively to K12 and HED customers.

I hail from the evergreen state of Washington - born and raised - but was Californicated at the impressionable young age of 18 when I went to Santa Barbara for higher education.  10 years of "SoCal", including earthquakes fires and riots, left me yearning for a slower pace and some sanity which I found in the foothills of the Sierras in "NorCal".

Purpose:
At this stage of my career, I'm apparently beyond the primal desire to hack around in bits and bits - at least as far as you know - despite the geek factor that drew me into this industry.  Working in the vertical that I do, and managing the team that I do, I'm consistently looking for those "AH HA" technologies and insights that customers team and self can take advantage of for higher understanding, efficiency and fulfillment.  Is that too much to ask of a blog?

Education: University of California - Santa Barbara; Computer Science
Despite the proximity to the distractions of beach, sun and surf, I actually did graduate in four years (while working 20 hours a week and gig'in weekly in a band).
