Last week, TechNet launched its new home and hub design, a Metro-friendly editorialized home page design for the site and new themed topic pages, such as It's received some positive and some negative feedback. In particular, we received an anonymous complaint about the site "having become a marketing site."

The only changes to the page, however, were in design. "Metro" is the Windows 8 approach to user interface, a typographic and navigation graphics approach to showing information, often described as "tiles." The new news cotnrol on the home and Cloud pages, for example, which feature author photos on a visual background with a reversed (white on black background) headline, is a Metro component of the new design.

Otherwise, it's the same content as before.
