One of my favorite features of SharePoint 2010 is the Document ID.
As discussed in the MSDN article Developing with Document Management Features in SharePoint Server 2010

re: SharePoint 2010–Returning Document ID in Search Results

Thank you for that one!

Have all this working with docID and versioncontrol being surfaced. However, seem to have a problem with contextualised searches (i.e. configued on the SP site collections). If I point the seach results page directly at the FAST search page it works fine. DocID and Version control don't work if facet-ed search is refined on a list etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I was thinking about a way this approach could be extended and improved further...is it possible to configure the XSL (I'm not a developer) so that clicking on the DocID opens the 'Dispform.aspx' for the document rather than than the document iteself? I think this would be the holy grail!!
