...building hybrid clouds that can support any device from anywhere
Just posted a tiny update to the published version of PDT to resolve the media validation issue with System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager Prerequisites. There are no other changes in this release – a much larger update with lots of interesting new functionality is coming soon!
I believe that there is a bug in VMCreator.ps1 where the $Download variable supplied to the Start-Process -FilePath "robocopy.exe" at line 1669 is not set. I would add the line Invoke-Expression("`$Download = `"$Download`"") after line 1665 to correct the problem.
Great, will the SCCM IIS Component "Windows Authentication" also be fixed in the next release?
Do you have a link for this?
Link for those who are struggling to search.
SQL server deploy don't work - no installation features.
Viktor - please see the post on troubleshooting. The Installer log file for the server you are attempting to install SQL on should allow you to trace why the SQL install is not having any features added.
Thank you for the excellent work and contribution. I'm working through the latest build this time trying to deploy a lab/POC environment using the variableAD.xml so PDT builds AD etc. I keep running into the below validation error when I try running the Installer script. I have verified that AD was built and the service accounts and group were created and all the servers joined the domain.
Validating role security principals...
System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager security principals
Principal: SystemCenter2012R2OperationsManagerAdminGroup... Failed
ngc\OM Admins is not a valid security principal
System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager security principals
Principal: SystemCenter2012R2ConfigurationManagerAdminGroup... Failed
ngc.restonmtc.com\CM Admins is not a valid security principal
What a great bundle of scripts.
Is there an quick-introduction explaining the relationship between components, roles and installables to be found anywhere?
hey rob! .. i am trying this version but the download.ps1 keeps failing with the following error: Exception calling "DownloadFileAsync" with "2" argument(s): "WebClient does not support concurrent I/O operations." Running on Windows 2012 Tried not changing
anything or at little as possible and using both variable and variableAD (in variable i did change network name, IP and so on) going to try on another host tomorrow Do you know what the problem can be? Thanks in advance
The function that copies the source is at line# 1770 in the Installer.ps1 file for the PDT-2.5.2509. I added a line at 1766 as mentioned here: Invoke-Expression("`$Download = `"$Download`"") Restarted building the lab from scratch again but I am still
getting the same "Media Validation failed" error and the DC01 stops processing any further. Shouldn't all the media files be copied to DC01 as part of the VM creation process?
Hi Moderator, Please disregard my last post that I created a few hours ago as the line Invoke-Expression("`$Download = `"$Download`"") needs to be added to the VMCreator.ps1. Thanks
Hoi Rob, I have noticed with the PDT installation of SMA, that the SPF account that is used for IIS Application Pools is not added to the local group "smaAdmingroup" on the SMA server. Can you fix this? Otherwise SMA is not working with the actions in
Windows Azure Pack. Thanks
Tom - Thanks for pointing this out. This will be fixed in the next release... any day now.
