First rule of Fight Club? You do not talk about Fight Club

As we move into the six month of ACES team members writing blogs and interacting on Flight Simulator user community boards, I thought it appropriate to point people to this gem from Guy Kawasaki (former Apple evangelist):

  • Hi,

I note that one of his rules is to develop API's to allow the extension of the product by the community.  While I know you have the Pipes SDK for this purpose, it seems that FSUIPC has a far larger array of variables available (and some are pokeable, I assume?).  It would be nice to have an interface to all the possible variables coming direct from MS.  And it would be nice to have most of those as pokeable variables.

    Take care,

  • Hi Tom,

While I know that members of the 3rd party community would agree that you guys want more from us, and could do more with more, I would point out that we actually do a *lot* of work to support the 3rd party community, already, and that part of the reason the FS add-on community is so strong has been our support in that arena.

I think we compare very well with nearly every other current game developer today.

That being said, we've got more to do in that arena, and I believe that you'll be happier with what we do in the future.

    Probably not enough...  but better.

    Cheers,

    Jason
