The R2 connectors for System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 have components that can run on Windows Operating Systems. There are two components to the Connectors: The Connector service, and the provider that runs on the remote computer.
The following list is the supported Windows configurations with Cumulative Update 2 (CU2) for the connectors installed:
Connector Service: Windows Server 2003 x86 and x64 SP1 or higher Windows Server 2008 x86 and x64
Windows Provider: Windows Server 2003 x86 and x64 SP1 or higher Windows Server 2008 x86 and x64
