toolsignConsider a scenario where you are planning to manage Red Hat Linux servers using System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2.  Before deploying the agents you need to import the respective Red Hat Linux Management Pack but when you attempt to do this the process fails with an exception upon import:

An exception was thrown while processing ImportManagementPack for session id uuid:eff4da8a-fd0f-4607-9c63-5300f4733ee0;id=2.
Exception Message: The creator of this fault did not specify a Reason.

Full exception detail:

Could not load ManagementPack [ID=Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library, Keytoken=31bf3856ad364e35, Version=6.1.7221.30].
ManagementPack not found in the store.Version mismatch. For ManagementPack [[Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library,
31bf3856ad364e35, 6.1.7221.0]] requested version from the database was [6.1.7221.30], and actual version available is [6.1.7221.0]).

Cause

This exception can be due to a missing WSManagement Library.  For example, you can receive this exception if the WSManagement Library Management Pack has been removed.  The full name as follows:

Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by re-importing the WSManagement Library Management Pack - Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library.  By default this Management Pack can be found in the root of the System Center Operations Manager 2007 folder:

%ProgramFiles%\System Center Operations Manager 2007\Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library

Once the Management Pack is successfully re-imported you should be able to import the Red Hat Linux Management Pack without issue.

Hope this helps,

  • This is a bug in SCOM 2007 R2. In this time nor resolved.

  • This didn't help at all because you can't re-import something which was imported previously.
