This week the Windows Azure team released WebMatrix 3, the current version of the popular free web development tool, which includes support for popular open source apps and the ability to publish your site to the Cloud using Windows Azure Web Sites.
One of the most requested features in WebMatrix 2 was support for version control software. In this release, WebMatrix 3 now supports both Git and TFS, following the recent TFS and Visual Studio announcements of support for Git, the version control system used by a growing number of open source initiatives and projects.
For more on this announcement, please see the Windows Azure blog. Or, for a guided tour of all the new features added by the team in the past six months, check out Channel 9’s WebCamps TV with Microsoft’s Vishal Joshi and Brady Gaster.
