I was recently working to deploy Microsoft System Center Service Manager Self Service Portal 2012 SP1 on SharePoint 2010 Servers and I found couple of issues during the deployment and I thought to share the fixes.
The Service Manager 2012 SP1 Management Server and Service Manager 2012 SP1Data warehouse Servers were installed on Windows 2012 with centralized SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012 as well.
The first error I faced was below:
An error occurred while executing a custom action:_DeploySharePointSolution.F175D191_81C3_4A7D_A05B_6A250575B468
I verified that the configuration seems fine except that SharePoint 2010 was missing Service Pack 1, once I installed SP1 on the SharePoint 2010 machine, I was able to install the Service Manager Self Service Portal.
The second issue I faced was on the “Finalize” stage and it was “An Error occurred while executing a custom action:RollbackCleanup."
In order to solve this issue, I increased the Service timeout settings within the registry in order to allow for Service Manager adequate time to restart its services. Beware that this workaround is a global setting, and it affects timeouts for every service. The following steps outline how to make these changes:
Once this registry update was carried out, I was able to successfully complete the Microsoft Service Manager Self Service Portal deployment.
