I was so pleased with my earlier post -  and with how easy it made creating customised tables - that I was merrily boasting about it to my colleague and fellow blogger, Darren Strange.

But then Darren pointed out that this feature isn't exactly new... and that it's definitely been around since Office 2003 if not earlier.

Which ably demonstrates the rationale behind the new look for Office - namely, that there were hundreds of features that most users weren't aware of (even those of us who would consider ourselves to have a strong knowledge of the products!). The redesigned look, and in particular the tabs, makes it easier for us to uncover the full functionality of the product and therefore get more done.
