A common question we’ve been getting in the Office space is related to SharePoint and the recently announced ASP.NET vulnerability. It is possible to expose the issue through SharePoint, but the core issue lies within the .NET framework. There will be no SharePoint update for this bulletin, but it is recommended that you install the update for the .NET framework in your environment.
A list of the affected .NET versions along with the corresponding downloads can be found within the bulletin MS10-070.
On Tuesday, September 14th, 2010, Microsoft Office released 2 security bulletins. The security updates apply to:
Microsoft Office 2002, 2003, and 2007 as described in MS10-063.
Microsoft Office Outlook 2002, 2003, and 2007 as described in security bulletin MS10-064.
For complete details, see "Microsoft Security Updates for September 2010" for home users and "Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for September 2010" for IT professionals.
And keeping up with the Jones Microsoft released non-security updates; this includes the Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010 32-bit / 64-bit Junk Email Filter.
