Hi Alexander, and any others (after first having followed the instructions within this post) who are still unable to access and download the files, you can then send an e-mail to feedork@microsoft.com - making sure you add "Microsoft Office 2010 Security Baseline" to the subject line. We will then follow up to make sure you are able to obtain the security baseline.

I've mailed the connect team and am getting no-where on this one. Here's what the connect guys told me:

"Our records indicate that you are an enrolled user on connection: Security Solution Accelerators.

You do belong to various security group on this connection. However, you are not authorized to access the content item (Security Compliance Manager Baselines Beta Review Program).

The security groups to which you belong does not have access on this item.

The product team is the best suited to provide the access on various connect artifacts (content, downloads, feedback etc.). I’ll forward your request to the product team for the same"

That was several days ago !

(IMHO It should be possible to get access directly via conenct without this sort of "messing around".)

Rather unhelpfully the connect guys didnt pass on any email I could use to contact "the product team" so I'm kindof left in limbo on this.

I tried to send a mail to orkblog but that got "bounced" so I dont have any option but to hassle you by posting here.

Hi AL, thank-you for your feedback. I agree with your suggestion to make it more discoverable on the Connect site. I've already submitted this feedback to the Solution Accelerator team.

Yes am already signed up have a status of "enrolled" etc etc

Tried all those options before I posted yesterday but still no luck.

Have mailed the Connect site now to see if they can help

BTW - I think you should make this more easily "discoverable" in the connect site.

i.e. if I search on "Office" within the connect product directory it dosnt' show up at all.

IMHO it would be much more "logical" to be able to locate this by searching on "office" than by looking for the generic "Solution Security Accelerators" (Office only appears once you've clicked below this)

I added the following note to the blog post for clarification:

Note: You need to have a Windows Live ID and register with Microsoft Connect before being able to join the Microsoft Office 2010 Security Baseline Review Program, which is listed in the Microsoft Connect Product directory as Security Solution Accelerators for the product name. After you click "(apply)", the Microsoft Connect page, "Participate in the Security Compliance Manager Baseline Beta Review Program!", will appear. From this page you can then download the beta baseline for Office 2010.

Hi AL, can you confirm whether or not you have previously signed up to participate (registered) on connect.microsoft.com? Please visit the web site connect.microsoft.com/intro for information on how to register. I will update my blog post to include this information - about the need to first register on connect.microsoft.com. I'm sorry for the confusion and inconvenience of not having included this information initially.
