July 2012 Update:
Microsoft and VMware now support Lync 2010 over a VMware View 5.0 VDI configuration. Details of this newly supported VDI configuration are captured in section A7 of the document. In addition, a diagram has been added to show a sample supported Citrix XenDesktop 4 configuration.
Feb 2012 Update:
Links to information about phones and devices qualified for Microsoft Lync 2010, and user remote FX and USBR with Lync client virtualization, were added to section 2.4. In Section 2.5 on Deployment Recommendations, a link was added to Lync 2010 Integration information, along with a link to the Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) team blog.
