It is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software spreadsheet for calculating a user’s hardware requirements based on information that the administrator supplies about the number of users, types of communication, and expected traffic.

The updated Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Capacity Calculator is now available for downloading. The Capacity Calculator is an Excel spreadsheet for calculating a user’s hardware requirements based on information that the administrator supplies about the number of users, types of communication, and expected traffic. This updated release includes the following:

  • Corrected figures for virtual machine (VM) requirements for very small numbers of users (for example, 500 users)
  • A correction for calculating conferences that are using Enterprise Voice
  • A correction for calculating concurrent calls
