What isn’t covered are scale requirements and recommendations. This is because scale requirements for a given enterprise depend on enterprise applications that must reside alongside Lync 2010, and this would need to be identified case-by-case.

The white paper, Client Virtualization in Microsoft Lync 2010, is now available in the Microsoft Download Center. This document touches on different client virtualization technologies and the benefits for each of the technologies, including improved manageability, data security, and “anywhere” data access. All the supported capabilities in Lync 2010 are described across multiple vendor products and architectures.
The final section of the document calls out the deployment recommendations for Lync 2010 in a virtualized environment (across different architectures) with Office 2010 integration. Information is also provided about the known limitations of using Microsoft Lync 2010 in a full desktop remoting environment.
