My man Brandon has all the details and notes that “this is just a sample of the Windows 8 stories and experiences you’ll see come to life in this campaign”. Oh, and if you’re in NYC this week, get to Times Square where Windows 8 will be featured on over 39 digital boards in the largest takeover of Times Square ever.
I think Microsoft needs to fire their ad agency. I'm a techie and I didn't see a single reason to buy Windows 8 in any of these ads. The message is simple - Windows 8 enables merges the PC and the tablet into a single device, which means you only need to buy 1 device instead of two (saving people hundreds of dollars).
I think people care more about what tablets and computers allow them to do rather than "saving hundreds of dollars" because they bought one device instead of two. Software is King. People purchase computers to create things and empower themselves. Choosing which computer to buy and in what form factor is not always a purely financial decision like you make it out to be.
