I posted this a while back on my personal blog and figured it was worth sharing here as some fun for a Friday.

I thought I’d found most of the tricks Windows Phone 7 has up it’s sleeve but no, this puppy has way more tricks up it’s sleeve. It’s one thing I love about the marketing…we’ve not had every feature explained to us in excruciating detail. The team behind it seem to know the delight and childlike glee of finding something you didn’t know was there…it reminds me of the days of Easter eggs and is in part what I was trying to explain in yesterday’s post on the personality of Windows Phone 7.

Head to pocket-lint.com for 72 tips and tricks…here are 3 of my favorites.

38. Getting International dialing help
Always travelling, always forgetting + signs and country codes? Go in to Settings, swipe to Applications, choose Phone and then set International assist to On. Turning it on will help automatically correct some of the common mistakes while dialing international or dialing while abroad.
45. Finding the domain shortcuts on the touchscreen keyboard
Load up the keyboard in Internet Explorer and to save you valuable seconds you get a .com button for websites. But what if you are going to a .co.uk? Well press and hold the .com button and up pops .co.uk, .org. and .edu.
65. Shuffle tracks on an album
This one is hidden within the player. Tap on the album cover and it reveals two controls, a repeat and a shuffle icon. It's like you've found a special secret

  • I Still think I will stick To My SonyEricsson X10 Mini pro with the android softwear.

After all at present windows phone is at the bottom of the rateings table and hopfully will stay there.

  • @noname1984 - we shall see. everything starts at the bottom from the start :)

  • I have been using my Samsung Focus for about 3 weeks now and absolute love it. Was concerned that leaving the 6.5 OS would be a problem with apps but it has not been an issue so far. I do hope they can add Adobe Flash support sooner, rather than later. Really like the Xbox Live Hub and the vast eco-system of Microsoft products that allow you to get everything done between your laptop, phone, cloud and the Xbox.

  • I have had my HTC Arrive for almost a week now and love finding hidden tricks within the WP7 OS. So far, I am extremely happy with my phone.

  • I absolutely love my HTC HD7, but Tmobile leaves a lot to be desired in terms of data coverage.  At least I finally have NoDo though!  ;-)

  • I wish they'd hurry up and release a phone in Japan.  I have money burning a hole in my pocket and I already own several Zunes, which I absolutely love.  No gadget would make me happier than a Windows phone in Japan that I can use my Zune pass on.
