Microsoft Virtual Academy’s Guiding Principles

Back in April, the Microsoft Virtual Academy team got together to talk about why we work on this project and what we want MVA to be in the future. This list of principles to guide us came out of that meeting. We’re a passionate group, so we don’t always come to consensus easily, but for once, we spent most of the time agreeing with each other. Have we described the learning experience you want? We’d love to get your thoughts in the comments below!

  • Successful technologists never stop learning and great technology never stops evolving
  • MVA is a conduit for taking control of your career and getting to where you want to go
  • Your investment in training through MVA makes it progressively easier to adopt new tools and adapt to new approaches
  • Our heroes are working technologists who greet challenges with a smile and who help people by building solutions
  • We know you are too busy for spin, positioning, and taglines
  • We teach the skills you need to perform better at the job you have today and to chart your course for getting the job you want tomorrow
  • We build innovative experiences using the latest Microsoft technologies because we are taking a leadership position to evolve learning
  • Our community will embrace you whether your goal is to develop proficiency across multiple topics or simply to answer a single question
  • Your effort and accomplishments should be acknowledged, and we will celebrate your success

  • This list is right on! MVA is a great learning resource.  I have referred dozens of my colleagues to it.  It is a comfort to know that whenever I have spare time to study it's there.  I especially enjoy attending live streaming events being able to ask the amazing MVP community questions too.

    Keep up the great work!

  • Great...great...great... MVA Project. I already registered on MVA last 5th day of August, and taken some courses offered by MVA. I have completed 5 courses. I'm very happy because I completed/passed  those courses. I gained more knowledge on Microsoft Technologies specifically in Windows Server 2012 Jump Start. Thanks a lot for those people who made this Project.. good luck and GOD BLESS:) more power and have nice day to all Microsoft Community.

  • Thanks a lot for this Project. I appreciate your efforts! I am first in Moldova and it is a great challenge to pass all tests. I am waiting for any Exchange courses!

    You're awesome!

  • MVA's effort is really invaluable for us technologists and enthusiasts. I have already got further in my career by studying in MVA and I'm not going to stop here. I've also spread the word!

I already feel like being a part of MVA community and I'd gladly put some effort in developing this awesome learning concept.

Matthew, MVA Team; please keep yourself passionate and everyone else: stay in touch and NEVER stop learning!

  • This is great! I'm from Malaysia. After i found out about MVA, i plan to learn as much as possible abt BI & Data Analysis fr my future career path.
