What happens when you put the left brain and right brain together for two days of accelerated app design instruction? This week we’ll be bringing engineers and designers together to show you how to create apps that provide elegant and compelling user experiences. Our live online course Windows 8 UX Design Jump Start will be taught by industry leaders, Chris Mayo of Microsoft and Brandy Porter, Director of Design at Big Nerd Ranch. Even if you can’t attend the entire two days, you’ll want to register so you can jump into the conversation and get your questions answered.

If you’re interested in great design that encompasses much more than just pretty presentation, you can get an overview of how the conversation has changed by watching the first module of the Developing Windows Store Apps with HTML5 Jump Start.  That course will also help you brush up on the relevant HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript programming skills you can leverage to create powerful solutions.

If you’re looking for resources to get started designing for Windows 8, you should check out the article Designing UX for apps which can be found at the Dev Center for Windows Store apps. In addition to covering how to plan your app, providing design guidance and inspirational case studies, you can also find links to download design assets you can use today.

I’ll look forward to seeing you in the Q & A chat on April 24th and 25th, and you can also follow the conversation on Twitter at #MSJumpStart.
