In typical Jump Start fashion, every stop of this course is example-driven. Microsoft Technical Evangelist Jerry Nixon and Crank211 co-founder, Daren May, will craft sample after sample in real time to show simple and complex techniques you can take back to your workplace. I'm glad this class is an all day class and it's free because I am currently going to school and taking Object Oriented and Java course. The courses that I am taking in school which is online has been somewhat of a challenge for me. I'm hoping following this course it will make programming easy for me because some of the programming languages have similar in syntax but different in coding style. So I am really looking forward to this class. Is there anything that I will need to do or download before this class starts?
April -- This will be a pretty accelerated course designed to prepare experienced developers to pass the first Microsoft exam required for the "MCSD: Windows Store Apps Using HTML5" (www.microsoft.com/.../mcsd-windows-store-apps-certification.aspx). You can be sure that Jerry Nixon and Daren May will be a phenomenal instructor team and will explain/demo things wonderfully, but they will have an accelerated pace. Technically, you don't "need" to do anything or download anything, but I would suggest you check out the Building Windows Phone 8 Apps Jump Start recording on MVA to see how the flow goes for you (www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/.../building-apps-for-windows-phone-8-jump-start). It's also based on C#/XAML and the pace will be similar. Good luck! Of course, the best place to start is always with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)....
I'd love to attend but my schedule will not allow it. Do you know if the webcast will be available later. I know other Jump Starts have been.
Also hoping this is going to be available thru MVA afterwards ... would be difficult to attend this live.
These usually all become available as downloads afterwards yes? Will definitely be hanging out for this one as work won't let me take a day off to watch videos :D
@David, @Bob and @Kris -- The Programming in C# Jump Start promises to be an exceptional virtual live learning experience with tons of live Q&A via chat while Jerry and Daren team-teach the content. We hope you get the chance to join us live for as many sessions as possible, but understand how schedules often times get in the way! ;-) This session will be posted to MVA ~one week after the live delivery. As long as you register, we'll send you a note with a link once they're posted. Hope to see you online!
Thanks for the information Frank!
Im In...this is going to be awesome! Im from India and it would be late evenings for me!
