I have received numerous requests for a self-study guide focused on Lync, so in this post I've decided to turn to that technology (and since preview information on Lync 2013 is also coming out, I'll include a bit of that at the end as well). Before I get started, however, I've provided a brief definition of what Lync is for those of you who aren't familiar with the technology. The definition below is taken from this site:
Please note also that I have deliberately avoided including Lync Online content so that this can be dedicated to customers seeking to deploy and maintain their own Lync 2010 environment. Future posts will deal with Lync Online and Microsoft's other hosted services. Also, some of the links below refer to OCS 14 instead of Lync. This is because OCS 14 was the name previously given to Lync.
Here are the self-study guide links I've found for Lync 2010:
NOTE: All of these links worked at the time this post was created, though some of them may become outdated over time. Also, I have included only free resources though there are many additional resources available in the form of technical books and training classes.
Microsoft Lync 2010 Self-Study Guide
Videos and Webcasts
Articles and Documentation
Scripts and Code Samples
Lync 2013 Preview
These resources are provided "as is" since at the time of this writing Lync 2013 has not yet been released. They are specifically designed to help prepare for the newest version of Lync.
This is a 'must have' if you are planning to deploy Lync! Thanks for putting this comprehensive self study guide together!!
Thanks for sharing this, very good collection, provides a direction for a Lync beginner
This was very helpful for Lync. Do you have a self-study guide for Exchange 2010 or 2013?
