7/13/2014 Update: Get the details about the US Celebration in our more recent blog post.
Last week, I traveled to Washington, DC, with other members of the US WPC planning team, for a WPC 2014 site visit hosted by Kati Quigley, WPC Experience Ambassador, and her team. The visit was a blend of meetings and discussions about the plans for WPC 2014, and touring both the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the greater DC area, to get a feel for the overall conference experience this July. One of the things I particularly like about the annual site visit is that it includes members of the Partner Engagement Board, or PEB, who take time away from their businesses to join this planning meeting and give their feedback to help shape the conference and keep the content and experience focused on what matters to you, our partners.
Activities we are planning for US partners at this year’s conference include the US keynote, lounge, roundtables and executive meetings, US-specific sessions, and the event that brings all US partner and Microsoft attendees together—the US Celebration. This party gives us a chance to thank you for being a Microsoft partner in a relaxed setting, and to spend time with you.
In one of her first official responsibilities as our new US WPC lead, Ahinsa Mansukhani put our team to work, and we spent two afternoons touring several venues to find the right one for this very important event. Last year, the Houston Museum of Natural Science was an amazing and fun place to hold this event, and it set a high standard for us as we considered a variety of spaces for this year’s party. We wanted to give you another unique, local experience, something you might not otherwise get to see during your trip.
So, mark your calendars, and…
Join us for the WPC 2014 US Celebration at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum on Tuesday, July 15.
The largest of the 19 museum included in the Smithsonian Institution, the National Air and Space Museum “maintains the world's largest and most significant collection of aviation and space artifacts, encompassing all aspects of human flight, as well as related works of art and archival materials.”
I have visited this museum a few times, but I was still in awe as we walked through the main area. From floor to ceiling, there is just so much to see and do, and to be inspired by. It’s going to be another awesome party, and there are many ideas flying around (pun intended, of course) as the US Celebration starts to take shape. We can’t wait to see you there!
We’ll share more event details about the party on this blog closer to the conference, and you can RSVP on Facebook or Yammer to stay informed about details, too.
Why not use the microsoft product Yammer instead of facebook.
Great idea, Laura. You can also RSVP for the US Celebration on Yammer at
