When a business upgrades the technology it uses every day, productivity, workflow, and overall functionality can be dramatically and positively impacted. While a new Microsoft Dynamics or Microsoft SharePoint implementation is life-changing in the workplace, Microsoft partners know that it doesn’t need to be a major technology overhaul to produce remarkable benefits, especially for customers in the small business and midsize business (SMB) space.
With this philosophy in mind, earlier this year Microsoft collaborated with our partners to give two SMB customers a technology refresh that demonstrates how the right technology investments can make a big difference. We coordinated with Intel and HP to create the Small Business Tech Makeover Video Contest, and encouraged our partners who work closely with small businesses and midsize businesses to nominate their exceptional customers for a technology upgrade worth more than $7,000.
To enter the contest, Microsoft partners interviewed their small business customers on video, explaining how a technology makeover would allow them to grow and compete more effectively.
I am excited to announce that Jacob’s Ladder Job Center (submitted by Microsoft reseller Majenze International) and REHAB Vintage Interiors (submitted by Microsoft reseller Avatar Computer Consulting) are the lucky winners, receiving the grand prize of software, hardware, and setup of Windows 7 Professional, Windows Small Business Server 2011, Microsoft Office Professional 2010, Microsoft Office 365, HP Folio 13 Notebook PC, HP TouchSmart 9300 Elite All-in-One PC, HP LaserJet Pro Printer, Windows Phone, and HP ProLiant MicroServer—a total value of more than $7,000.
As our winners can attest, customers using technology designed for their business can benefit from a dramatic improvement in the overall health of their company. For example, with a server specifically designed for SMBs, like Windows Small Business Server, companies are able to share and protect data, reduce complex processes and increase manageability within the organization’s infrastructure. Paired with an implementation of Office 365, SMBs are then able to achieve flexibility and mobility, including remote access to important documents, like never before.
